Rename or move
F6, Shift+F6

This command allows you to rename files and directories (DOS
3.0 or later), or to moves file to other directories or disk
drives. There are three ways you can use this command:

. You can rename or move the file under the cursor bar
in a file panel, or you can rename a directory in a
        file or tree panel.

. You can rename or move a group of files that you've
marked with the Ins key or Select group and Unselect
        group.

. Advanced users: You can type in the name of the file
to rename or move (or a group of files if you use DOS
wildcard characters). Press Shift + F6 or hold down
Shift when you select Rename or move from the Files
        menu.

Pressing F6 (or selecting Rename or move) brings up a dialog
 box like:

       +-------------------- Rename --------------------+
       | Rename or move "somefile.ext" to |
       | _ |
       -------------------------------------------------|
       | [ ] Include Subdirectories |
       -------------------------------------------------|
       | [ Move ] [ F10 - Tree ] [ Cancel ] |
       +------------------------------------------------+

There are three ways you can select where to move the file(s)
 to:

. Type the name of the directory where you want to move
the file to (or the name of a new file if you're
        renaming a file).

. Press F10 to bring up a pop-up directory tree of the
current disk and select a directory from this tree.

. Set up the Commander so there are two file panels,
with the inactive panel showing the directory to which
you want to move the files.

   Canceling Rename:
Press Esc at any time to stop renaming or moving
        files.

   Overwriting Files:
You'll be asked for confirmation before existing files
        are overwritten.

Note This command updates the treeinfo.ncd file when you
          rename directories.
